Life goes on! I swear, I'm chasing my tail most days, but here's an update on the happenings in the Anderson household~
Last week, Cecy was able to go through the Logan temple. It was such a great day and I couldn't help but think back on my own experience at that beautiful temple. I looked across at Cecy and it was all I could do not to bawl my eyes out. It's really hard for me to believe my precious little girl is a grown woman now, on the verge of starting her own family.
We had Janzyn's baby blessing on Sunday and Jay was asked to give Jake and Maleia's baby sister a blessing as well. Another tender moment for us, and afterwards we partied at our house throughout the rest of the day. By Sunday evening we were all so exhausted that we literally collapsed. It was the good kind of exhaustion that makes one sigh with relief and gratitude.
Tuesday morning Janzyn woke up with a nasty cough and runny nose. I kept my eye on him all day and by evening he was starting to fever. Dang, how I hate to have a sick baby! I didn't get much sleep that night and by noon the next day it was obvious he needed a little medical intervention. I got him in to the doc, or rather the PA pretending to be a doc, and after some motherly prodding I convinced the PA to test him for RSV. Sure enough, my fears were confirmed. The little tyke has the dreaded RSV virus and there isn't a darn thing to do about it except keep a close watch and try to keep his temp down. I've spent the rest of the week walking the floors and cuddling. My arms are tired, my back hurts, and my eyes have taken on a glazed stare that hopefully isn't permanent. Janzyn is actually sleeping fairly soundly at the moment but I'm not holding my breath on it lasting through the night. It's so hard to look into his glassy eyes with the pleading look of "Help me, Mom!" and to hear his deep, dark barking cough. I'm just praying it doesn't get any worse than this and hoping we can avoid a hospital run.
On top of everything else, Jordan had his wisdom teeth pulled this morning. He's actually done fairly well, except for a few minutes this evening of praying before the porcelain god. He's a tough cookie, that's for sure. I think I'd be milking it for all it's worth but he's sure he'll be up and running by tomorrow. We'll see!
We also hosted a bridal shower for Cecy and all her friends tonight. We didn't have as much of a turnout as we had planned on and I think Cecy felt a little bad about that. But we have another shower planned for next Friday and then her in-law family is planning another one for the following weekend. Hope she rakes in the loot! They certainly could use all they can get!
Next week will be just as hectic and full as this past week has been. I'm hoping Janzyn will be feeling more perky so I can actually put him down long enough to do the laundry. Jake ran out of underwear today, and that's not a good thing!
